SDCA Cup Cricket tournament begins in Jorethang
The 1st state level “SDCA Cup Cricket Tournament 2018”, organized by South District Cricket Association (SDCA), got underway at Jorethang playground today.
The Opening ceremony had the President of Sikkim Cricket Association (SCA), Lobzang G. Tenzing, as chief guest accompanied by Sonam Palden Bhutia (General Secretary of SCA) as guest of honor and Jigmee Namgyal (SE-Energy and Power Department, Jorethang, South Sikkim) as special guest.
In his inaugural address, the SCA president appreciated the initiative taken by South District Cricket Association and wished them success for the tournament. On behalf of the entire SCA team, he also congratulated Honorable Chief Minister of Sikkim, Pawan Kumar Chamling for being the longest serving Chief Minister of the country.
A total of 18 teams are participating in this tournament which is scheduled to continuetill 16th May 2018. The tournament was flagged off with the match played between HRCC – Namchi and WCCC – Legship and later won by WCCC Legship by 16 runs.
