Legal Committee

To be a unique forum for the analysis of all aspects of sports law and to provide cutting-edge information on the nowadays daily interaction of the world of sport with business law, business transactions and litigation matters. The Legal committee shall assist business lawyers in better understanding the complexities of modern sports law, looking at the national and the international sports law environment. The Committee will identify topics of interest among several areas of sports law, from anti-doping issues to sponsoring matters, from athlete’s matters to association-related issues, from sports dispute resolution to franchise matters, etc.


Finance Committee

Prepare budget, in consultation with the committee to reflect income and expenditure of the Association for presentation at the first meeting of the financial year. Maintain up to date records of all income and expenditure. Maintain the Association‘s cash flow and level of petty cash. Prepare and distribute invoices/accounts for services rendered. Attend monthly Association committee meetings and provide a financial report. Make details of all accounts available to the Association Committee and members as provided in the Corporate Affairs Act., and seek reports of all other accounts held by sections of the Association. Submit tax returns and income tax payments of Association. Prepare financial accounts suitable for auditing and provide the auditor with all necessary information. Report activities of the portfolio to the membership at the AGM.

Disciplinary Committee

To hear and decide complaints made to the Association regarding an alleged disciplinary offense by a member of SCA; a player; a coach, and other person assisting or supporting a player or a Team; or a volunteer or official associated with an event or activity operated, sponsored or sanctioned by Sikkim Cricket Association. Any such hearing and decision shall be in accordance with the terms of reference and any other rules, regulations and procedures established from time to time by the Board of Members of the association and approved at a general meeting of members held in accordance with Sikkim Cricket Association by-laws.


Marketing & Media Committee

To coordinate all aspect of marketing for the association, provide guidance and resources to members and institutions in regards to marketing and related events. Develop and maintain brand standards for the association. Assist marketing and promotions for SCA and related events. Take an active role is highlighting members and association accomplishments and programs. Assist other committees and organization as a whole with marketing, promotions, advertising, and outreach. Help organization in finding out the sponsors for different events organized by the association. Utilize marketing tactics and platforms strategically.

Ground & Pitch Committee

The role of this committee involves the physical condition of the playing ground and pitch, its maintenance and upkeep. The committee identifies and articulates the needs of the ground and pitch and makes the necessary recommendations to the board. This responsibility includes the periodic inspection and evaluation of the ground in the areas of safety, security, necessary repairs, remodeling and new construction. They shall recommend purchase of equipment’s and qualified maintenance services required to maintain the ground and pitch suitable for playing condition.

Selection Committee

The Selection Committee is responsible for recommending and selecting the players, coaches and support staff for local and national level tournaments, based purely on their performance, fitness and discipline both on and off the field. The committee should be unbiased in selection process and work for the benefit of the game.


Umpire Committee

To ensure that the match is conducted in accordance with the Laws of Cricket, the rules and regulations of the ICC and any other regulations relevant to the specific tournament/competition. To keeps a record of any incidents of misconduct and reports them to the disciplinary/selection committee. The umpire’s jurisdiction shall exist from the time the players enter the court before the match until they leave the court after the match. To maintain a record of all games umpired.


Equipment Handling Committee

Ensure that association has adequate equipment during the season. Organize the distribution of equipment to coaches before the tournament/competition commences. Ensure the equipment bags and any first aid kits are kept fully stocked. Order and purchase additional equipment for the teams in consultation with the President, Treasurer and Secretary. Maintain an inventory management system and check a stock at the beginning and the conclusion of each Tournament/Competition. Attend scheduled committee meetings on a regular basis and provide an inventory holding report for the committee. If for any reason the Equipment Manager is unable to attend a committee meeting a report should be submitted to the Secretary in writing prior to the scheduled meeting.

Executive Committee Documentation & Web Administration

Responsible for maintenance of Archival documents and all the others related documents of the association in a proper manner and filing it accordingly. Regularly update and maintain the website. Maintain regular activity on SCA's social media channels to engage members and promote the SCA’s brand. Take an active role is highlighting members, players and association accomplishments and programs. Look after all the paper works of the association. Report the committee progress on a regular basis to The President.

Sport Operation Technical Committee

They will be a central part of the decision making process for all technical and strategic matters in relation to the development of the sport. Working proactively with the committee to explore and develop existing programs and procedures. Develop new ideas and initiatives that will improve the sport. Developing and implementing new rules and structures to enhance and grow opportunities to compete. Ensuring that all members’ interests are represented effectively in developing the sport at all levels. Taking a collaborative approach to achieve shared goals, aims and objectives across the sport.


Tournament Committee

Responsible for organizing tournaments across the state at different levels for the development of the sport, active participation of people with sport, search of new talents in the field of cricket and generation of revenue to the association, by means of tournament registration fee, sponsorship fee, etc. The committee needs to work with the “marketing committee” for getting the maximum exposer in terms of revenue generation.


Tour, Program & Fixture Committee

The committee is responsible for organizing and coordinating the players and support staff for a tour. Make necessary arrangements for the upcoming programs organized for the association or participated by the association. Will also be responsible for preparing fixtures of the cricket tournaments organized by the association.


Players Counselling & Management Committee

Motivate players before and after the match, tournament and tour. The committee members will be responsible for maintaining friendly environment among players and also between Players and other team members during the tour. Solve the issues if any in a professional way for the benefit of the sport. Show motivational sports videos and prepare lectures/speech to boost the positive energy in the players. Also take the feedback of all the players after every match and on the conclusion of the tour regarding the playing conditions, behavior of the support staff & coaches (the feedback should be kept confidential and be submitted to Board Members (sealed).


Women’s Committee

To look after all the affairs related to the women’s team of association and bring the issues faced if any to the Board Members and help them resolve their grievances. To communicate and co-operate with the related committees to support Women sports.


Monitoring Committee

Monitor the activities of all the other committees. They need to visit the members of the respective committees on a regular basis and cross check the work assigned to them. Need to prepare a report and submit it to the board members during the meeting. The members of this committee should not be associated with any of the other committees and should work as a vigilance committee.
