Sikkim Beats Manipur In Cooch Behar Trophy
The Under 19 Men’s team of Sikkim who is playing their league matches in a four day Cooch Behar Trophy 2019-20 has won their match against Manipur today by an innings and 111 runs. Sikkim earned a bonus point for this win and earned 7 point(s) for the match. So far Sikkim has won 2 matches in the league round of the tournament and has earned 13 point(s) in total.
Sikkim showed some brilliant knocks in their first innings were two of its batsmen scored centuries. Subhojeet Halder scored 193 runs off 228 balls at a strike rate of 84.65 with 32 fours and 2 sixes and Sankalp Singhai scored 121 runs off 242 balls at a strike rate of 50.00 with 15 fours.
Sikkim won the toss and chooses to field first. In the first innings, Manipur was all out for 114 runs in 36.5 overs. Ingsho Limboo took 3 wickets, Robin Limboo and Sankalp Singhai took 2 wickets each and Bhim Lal Luitel, Rahul Kumar and MD Aadil took 1 wicket each. In its first innings, Sikkim scored 362 runs in 94 overs, giving the opponent a lead of 248 runs but Manipur was restricted by Sikkim bowlers to just 137 runs. The bowlers took Sikkim to this huge win where Robin took 4 wickets, Anwesh and Aadil 2 wickets each, Bhim and Sankalp 1 wicket each.
It is a most deserving victory for the team and they were brilliant with both bat and ball. Sikkim will be playing against Nagaland in the next match at Golaghat, Assam on 27th December 2019.
