Sikkim Beats Arunachal Pradesh By 4 Wickets
Bengaluru, 11th March 2021: Senior Women’s One Day Cricket League starts today and Sikkim will be facing Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Puducherry, Bihar, Mizoram and Manipur in the Plate Group of the tournament that will be played at Bengaluru.
In the inaugural match of the league today, Sikkim faced Arunachal Pradesh at Alur Cricket Stadium. Arunachal won the toss and chose to bat first. In the first innings, they scored 123 runs in 50 overs with the loss of 5 wickets. Sikkim’s tight bowling restricted the opponent for a bigger target. Nabam Yapu was the highest scorer for the side with 31 runs, followed by B. Ritu with 17 runs. Mariam Subba, Tabita Subba, Sarika Koli and Pranita Chettri took one wicket each.
In the second innings, Sikkim struggles a bit with the opening pair but later they got hold of the match and achieved the target in 35.1 overs. Rinki Rajak was the highest scorer for the side where she scored 56 runs and remained not-out. Songkit Lhamu Lepcha 18 runs, Tshering Ongmu Lepcha 16 runs, Sarika Koli 13 runs, and Purni Maya Gurung 1 run.
Sikkim will be playing against Jammu & Kashmir in the next match of the tournament on 13th March 2021. Sikkim Cricket Association wishes them luck for the tournament.
