SICA Executives Meets District Cricket Associations For Preparation Of Upcoming Season

11.06.2020, Mangan: After the partial opening of the COVID-19 lockdown, Sikkim Cricket Association (SICA) Executives have started their districts tour to meet the districts bodies and players and to discuss how to restart training and preparation for the upcoming season.

SICA is awaiting Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the calendar of events for the current season.

However, currently the players are in contact via the internet with the Trainers, coaches, Physio’s and it has been noticed that the very few numbers of players are participating in the Webinar. The office mandates the 100% attendance of the players in such Webinar now onwards.

On Thursday SICA Executives, Mr Lobzang G Tenzing – President, Mr Karma Gelay Dorjee – Vice President, Mr Tshewang Lama – Hon. Secretary and Mr Naresh Kr. Agarwal – Treasurer, met the North District Cricket Association (NDCA) and North District Players’ at Mangan, North Sikkim. Various issues were discussed and a plan of action is being formulated to improve cricket in the Schools and District levels. For a start, NDCA has been sanctioned three concrete pitches with net facilities along with bowling machines.

The next meeting of the district will be held for East District, followed by subsequent meetings with the West and South District Cricket Associations.
