Iqbal Abdullah Joins Sikkim As A Professional Guest Player

Sikkim Cricket Association (SICA) signs Iqbal Abdullah, a left-arm orthodox spinner and a left-handed batsman, as a professional guest player for the upcoming first-class cricketing season 2019-20. He has played for India A, India Green, India Under-19 cricket team, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai, and Kerala.

He made his first-class debut for Mumbai in 2007-08 and then enhanced his reputation further when he finished as India Under-19s’ leading wicket-taker at the World Cup in Malaysia in 2008 alongside the current Indian team captain Virat Kholi and have exceptionally played well in domestic cricket as well. In the 2011 IPL, Abdullah won two “Man of the Match” awards for his side, and also picked up the “Rising Star” award. He also won the man of the series for India A during the Emerging Players Tournament in Australia 2011. In 2012 he won the Indian Premier League for the first time in 5 years with his team Kolkata Knight Riders. He played six years for Kolkata Knight Riders, One year for Rajasthan Royals, and three years for Royal Challengers Bangalore in Indian Premier League (IPL). He is also the captain of D.Y. Patil Mumbai team.
