U19 Women’s Team Register Their Third Win In One Day Trophy
Sikkim currently playing their Women’s U19 One Day Trophy 2019-20 matches in Andhra Pradesh has registered their third win of the tournament after winning the match against Arunachal Pradesh on 12th February 2020 being played at KORM College Ground, Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh. They defeated the opponent by 40 runs.
Sikkim won the toss and Captain Pranita Chettri decided to bat first. They scored 115 runs in 50 overs losing 6 wickets. Yuden Lepcha scored 23, was the highest scorer for the Sikkim and also remained not-out. Pranita Chettri scored 14 runs.
In the second innings, Sikkim bowlers maintained the pressure on the opponent by taking early wickets and eventually Arunachal Pradesh’s batting collapsed for 75 runs in 50 overs, losing 9 wickets. Pranita Chettri and Sumi Dutta took 2 wickets each whereas Priyanka Gurung, Yuden Lepcha and Anuska Bhattacharya took 1 wicket each and sealed the victory.
Sikkim won a total of 3 matches in the tournament against Jammu & Kashmir, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh and concluded the tournament with 12 Point(s). The team will be preparing for upcoming Women’s U19 Twenty20 Trophy 2019-20, which will start from 27th March in Odisha.
