Sikkim U23 Men’s Defeated Arunachal Pradesh
Sikkim Under 23 Men’s team who were currently playing in Men’s Under 23 One Day Trophy 2019-20 in Odisha, won their last match of the league round against Arunachal Pradesh by 6 wickets today. The match was played in KIIT Cricket Stadium, Bhubaneshwar. This is the first tournament that is hosted by Sikkim this cricketing season.
Arunachal Pradesh won the toss and chose to bat first. In the first innings, they scored 197 runs in 47.5 overs losing all the wickets. Parth Palawat from Sikkim took 4 wickets and Dinesh Kumar Dhobi, Chandra Bahadur Chettri, Mohammad Saptula took 1 wicket each. Arunachal had a good start giving the opening partnership of 82 runs, but a brilliant fielding and run-out by Dinesh cease the partnership followed by effective bowling by Parth. He took 4 wickets in this match giving only 35 runs in 10 overs at an economy rate of 3.50 per over.
Sikkim had the target of 198 runs to be achieved in 50 overs at a run rate of 3.96 per over. They scored 200 runs in 37.1 overs losing 4 wickets. Harit Chauhan and Mohammad Shahbaz Anwar both scored 62 runs. Harit remained not-out along with Parth Palawat who scored 29 runs. Aamir Iqbal Bhutia gave a decent start to the team scoring 23 runs off 37 balls along with Avinash Rajak (10 runs), leading the team to win.
