SICA Shares The Load With 50 Lakhs To The BCCI’s Contribution To PM-CARES Fund

The outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a public health emergency and the Sikkim Cricket Association (SICA) along with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and other Cricket Association of India has decided to resolve that the nation gets all possible help to cope with the current situation and to contribute towards strengthening the nation’s disaster management capacities and encourage research to combat COVID-19 and protect Indian citizens.

The BCCI along with its affiliated state associations on Saturday announced to donate INR 51 crores to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM-CARES Fund) of which INR 50 Lakhs each will be collected from the entire affiliated State Cricket Associations including SICA and remaining the amount will be given by the BCCI.

The board along with its state associations will continue to monitor and work closely with the Government of India, state governments and other states regulatory bodies and are committed to providing support to the state machinery in the face of adversity.

“The APEX council of SICA has decided to contribute to Chief Ministers Relief Fund to fight against the COVID-19. The donation is in appreciation for all the initiatives taken under the leadership of Honourable Chief Minister of Sikkim and in recognition for all the noteworthy work by the frontline corona fighters from the Medical fraternity, Police, Safai Karmachari and the Government officials,” says President Lobzang G. Tenzing.
