HCM Makes All Cricketers In Sikkim Smile

Today all district bodies and the central executive body of Sikkim Cricket Association (SCA) called on to the Honorable Chief Minister of Sikkim (HCM) at Mintogang, Gangtok. The President of SCA apprised the HCM of the work done by SCA since January 2016. The important aspects were forming district association, organizing camp before BCCI, School tournament, talent hunt programs, ensuring transparency and conducting a regular meeting of SCA.

The President of SCA thanked the HCM for granting the lease of Mining Cricket Ground since 2002, where Indian cricketing icons Mahinder Singh Dhoni, Laxmi Ratan Sukla and Manoj Tewari has played U-19 matches in past. In August 2018 SCA has become the full member of BCCI and due to that now Sikkim would be playing in 14 different BCCI premium tournaments at National Level. BCCI has recently sanctioned funds for developing Mining Cricket Ground. The HCM was apprised of the players and support staffs getting opportunities to make most of it. Players and support staffs would be benefitted handsome amount as professional fee amounting to 6.5 crores approx., this coming season and BCCI will spend over 5 crores for their travel and logistics.

It was the historic moment for all the cricket lovers of Sikkim that Mining Cricket Ground lease will now be extended for next 40 years. HCM has assured to extend all support for developing cricket in Sikkim. He was happy with the activities of SCA in developing cricket in Sikkim.
