East District Cricket Association & Cricket Clubs Meets SICA
Sikkim Cricket Association (SICA) executives Mr. Lobzang G. Tenzing, President and Mr. Tshewang Lama, Honorary Secretary met with the new executives of East District Cricket Association and the representatives from various cricket clubs around Gangtok such as CAT Cricket Club, SHAFT Cricket Club, Alpine Cricket Club, Sledzers Cricket Club, Devolution Cricket Club, Black Eagle Sikkim Police Cricket Club, Royal Daragaon, Islmia Cricket Club and Middle Dot Cricket Club on Thursday, 3rd September 2020 at Hotel Sonam Delek, Tibet Road to discuss regarding the improvement and development of cricket and club culture in Sikkim.
The main motive of this meeting was to see the problems faced by the clubs, players and other related cricketing matter such as the contribution of the respective clubs in developing and focusing on the young cricketer of Sikkim, to promote more club culture.
Various matters such as improvement and development cricket in the state, search of new and younger local talents, skill development of local players, establishment of club culture in Sikkim, assistance of all the clubs to SICA for development of cricket were discussed. It was also decided that during BCCI season, clubs and district associations should organise camps, talent hunts and training programs for remaining players within state.
SICA has requested all the clubs to submit their Club Constitution which they have registered under Government of Sikkim to SICA to the earliest and also instructed those clubs who have not prepared the constitution to draft their constitution to the earliest and submit. Also, SICA has asked the clubs to submit the reports and feedbacks of First Two Tier Club Tournament 2020 which was played earlier this year. President would also be meeting the rest of the clubs in batches. He also informed the clubs about the voting rights given to clubs and will come out with a vision document to promote club culture in Sikkim.
