SCA Calls for Players’ Meet
Players’ of SCA who represented in National level Tournaments were invited for interaction by the President of SCA today. More than 60 player’s from all districts and all age categories along with woman players attended the meeting.
Among various issues discussed the following request were made by the players:
1. Turf wicket and practice pitches needs to be provided at the earliest.
2. Qualified coaches and support staffs from NCA should visit the state on regular basis.
3. Inter-district super league should be conducted.
4. Woman’s cricket should be given more emphasis and BCCI needs to intervene for the development of the Northeast Woman’s Cricket.
5. Exchange program for players.
6. The selection should be lengthened so that the talent can be showcased in a better format.
7. Coaching camp should be conducted for minimum one month with ample match practices in suitable environment.
The meeting decided to form a player’s body as per the direction of the Lodha Committee. Bivash Lamichhaney was elected as the President and Kikam Bhutia as General Secretary in the Adhoc Body till the formation of rules to be framed by the player’s body.
Player’s body has unanimously resolved that strict action should be taken against any players for indiscipline in and out of the field, participation in Non-SCA tournaments where outside players and finances are involved.
The President SCA gave a positive response to all their suggestions. The player’s body thanked the President for holding this path breaking meeting for the benefit of player’s of Sikkim. The player’s have pledged to support the initiatives taken by the current SCA body.
